A little autumn shopping on a Monday in Seogyo

How about joining the neighborhood’s grocery shopping for a change of pace on your Seoul trip? On Monday, November 2, Marche’s vegetable market comes to Local Stitch Creator Town Seogyo. Browse autumn produce, pick up some bread or something to eat, and take a short break from sightseeing.

There’s more than vegetables to take home

The announced stalls include bread and prepared dishes as well as seasonal produce. Look out for warm vegetable soup curry from Jigu Curry (지구커리), vegan ragù pasta from Kkotbiwon (꽃비원), and bread from Camus Bread (까뮈브레드). If cooking at your accommodation is difficult, make lunch or a snack your focus instead.

We suggest following the market with a relaxed walk around Seogyo-dong. Fit it into a day in Hongdae or Seogyo around lunchtime, and allow roughly 30 minutes to an hour. That is our suggested visiting time, not the duration of an official program.

Bring a shopping bag and a reusable container

A small shopping bag and your own food container will come in handy. Some stalls advertise benefits for visitors bringing containers; the eligible products and offers differ by vendor. Buying just enough to eat that day also helps keep the rest of your trip light.
