You arrive early and your room is not ready, or check out with half a day left before your flight. Start by deciding where you will collect your bags. Returning to your accommodation and heading straight to the airport from Seoul Station or Hongik University Station call for different plans.

1. Work backwards from your last journey

If you will return to the same accommodation, ask whether it offers storage before check-in or after check-out, whether there is a fee, and when bags must be collected. At a property without a front desk, arrange storage with your host rather than assuming someone will be there.

If you are heading straight from sightseeing to the airport, hotel storage may add a long return trip. Trace your route on a map: accommodation → sightseeing → bag collection → airport. Avoiding a detour can matter more than saving a little on the storage fee.

2. For a few hours out: T-Locker

T-Locker provides unstaffed lockers in Seoul subway stations. Incheon International Airport’s official guidance describes app or kiosk use depending on the location. Payment methods are not necessarily the same at every station, so follow the instructions at the locker you use.

Before paying, check the compartment dimensions and whether a suitable locker is available. Measure your suitcase including wheels and handles. The existence of large lockers does not guarantee an empty one; allow room for any shopping bags too.

Keep the locker location, number, receipt and collection information. A station may have long passages between lines and exits. Record which line it is near and whether it is inside or outside the ticket gates, as well as the exit number.

3. For large bags or staffed assistance: T-Luggage

T-Luggage is a storage and delivery service, distinct from an individual locker. Seoul’s official guidance lists branches at Seoul Station, Hongik University, Jamsil, Myeongdong, Gimpo Airport and Jongno 3-ga. Choose your branch first, then check its exact location and availability in the official booking service.

At a large interchange such as Seoul Station, the station name alone is not enough. Check the floor, exit direction and a suitable lift route for your suitcase.

Compare prices using your bag size, storage duration, branch and dates. Official pages do not all display the same hours, so this guide does not give a single timetable or price for every branch. Check your collection deadline against the booking page and branch information for your visit.

Useful locations along airport routes

  • Seoul Station: B1, in the direction from Exit 1 towards Exit 2.
  • Hongik University Station: B1, in the connecting passage between Line 2 and the Airport Railroad.
  • Myeongdong Station: B1, near Exits 1, 9 and 10.

The branch selector on the official English booking page lists these three locations as 10:00–22:00, while general information on the same page still says 09:00–22:00. Ask the branch directly if you need an early-morning drop-off. The English booking flow is branch and date → name, country, contact details and email → bag sizes and quantities. The displayed basic fee covers four hours, followed by hourly charges. We have not tested payment with an overseas-issued card or checked live same-day capacity.

For a Hongdae or Yeonnam-dong stop: KPLANZ

KPLANZ is another option if you want to leave your bags near Hongik University Station and explore Hongdae or Yeonnam-dong. This is staffed, in-store storage, with an agreed collection time, rather than an unstaffed locker. For several suitcases or a stay of several days, send the business your bag count, sizes and dates for a capacity check and quote.

  • Location: Unit 09, B1, Hongik Ingan Officetel, 183 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul. At Hongik University Station Exit 3, take the building passage beside the escalator to street level and follow the KPLANZ signs.
  • Hours: Weekdays 10:00–17:00. Weekends, public holidays and visits outside those hours require an appointment. Agree both drop-off and collection times.
  • Short-term prices: Per bag for the first four hours, KRW 2,500–8,000 on weekdays or KRW 3,500–12,000 on weekends and public holidays, depending on size. Each additional hour costs KRW 1,000. Request a separate quote for long-term storage using your dates, bag count and sizes.
  • How it works: Send your drop-off and collection times and bag details, then confirm space, price and your visit window. After check-in, the business sends a bag photograph and storage receipt by Instagram DM; show the receipt when collecting. If you do not use Instagram, enquire by email at kplanz.official@gmail.com.
  • Keep in mind: This in-store service does not include hotel or airport delivery. Keep passports, cash and expensive electronics with you. Ask ahead about unusually bulky items.

4. Arrange airport delivery separately

Leaving a bag in storage and receiving it at the airport are separate arrangements. For same-day delivery, check the booking deadline, expected arrival, collection terminal and counter, and accepted luggage before reserving. Do not assume a late drop-off can still be delivered that day.

Official airport guidance describes restrictions on delivery between unstaffed lockers: at least one end must be a staffed T-Luggage counter. Check whether your particular origin and destination can be booked. Leave time to collect the bags and then check them in with your airline.

5. Match storage to your day

  • Arriving early, then checking in at the same accommodation: ask the property about storage and collection hours first.
  • Sightseeing after check-out, then going to the airport: compare locations along your airport route.
  • Travelling with several large cases: check actual locker dimensions and availability alongside staffed-counter options.
  • Collecting late at night: check the storage facility’s collection hours separately from subway operating hours.

6. Five questions before leaving your bags

  1. What is today’s latest collection time?
  2. Can my suitcase and shopping bags all fit or be accepted?
  3. How long does the base fee cover, and what are the extra charges?
  4. Are my payment method and contact details accepted?
  5. What collection code, confirmation or identification will I need?

Keep your passport, wallet, phone and travel tickets with you. If you may need access to a bag during storage, ask about reopening and checking it back in. Set a reminder well before the collection deadline so you can enjoy the rest of your day.

Storage should make your remaining hours in Seoul easier. Choose the place that fits naturally between your sightseeing and your final journey.
